Decorated Easter Butter Cookies
Tomorrow it’s Easter, so I decided to prepare some simple, yet delicious, butter cookies to embellish with some Easter decorations 🙂 Here’s the recipe which maxes approximately 24 cookies, depending on the size of your cutters!
- 220 grams All-purpose flour (1 3/4 Cup)
- 114 grams Unsalted butter (room temperature) (2 sticks)
- 110 grams White sugar (little over a cup)
- 1 Large eggs
- 0.25 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Make sure that the butter and the eggs are at room temperature. In a bowl, mix the flour and the salt and set aside. Then, cream together the butter and the sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and the vanilla and mix for two minutes. Then add the flour.
Once the flour is incorporated, bring the dough together and roll it into a ball. Then wrap it with cling foil and let it rest in the fridge for at least an hour.
Once the hour is over, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (360F) and roll the dough on a lightly floured surface. Then cut into desired shapes and put in the oven for more or less 10 minutes (in a ventilated oven)
Once the cookies are cool, bring on your creativity and decorate them however you like! Use royal icing, sprinkles, melted chocolate or whatever else you can think off 🙂 Happy Easter!!!
